Hwaro Korean BBQ is the very first traditional Korean style charcoal pot BBQ restaurant in Melbourne. We started in 2006 to introduce the Korean charcoal BBQ culture. We carefully select premium meat and use our own ageing techniques. We always bring the finest quality of Korean BBQ to your table.

Meals cooked on mini charcoal BBQs at the table in an industrial-chic spot with graffitied walls.

First time experience at a Korean BBQ, to say it was an amazing experience would be a massive understatement. Right from the moment we entered the door we were greeted with amazingly friendly staff, the menu was explained thoroughly and the options were great. The food was absolutely delicious along side the lemon rice wine, and the staff demonstrating how dishes were to be served was great. Will definitely eat here again.

We had an amazing experience at this restaurant! The authentic Korean BBQ was outstanding, and the Wagyu beef was incredibly fresh with top-level quality. The atmosphere was lovely, and the service was remarkable. Highly recommend trying the Wagyu tender and La-Galbi, they were fantastic. The side dishes were authentic and complemented the meal perfectly. We’ll definitely be coming back next time!

So niceee!!! I went to this place for my last dinner in Australia and I was happy that I chose this restaurant. We ordered a set that had 4 platters of beef and they were all amazing!! The beef was marinated well and fit for the price. The service was also top, you just needed to press a button and the waiters would come to you. However didn’t give us enough kimchi to the point where we asked them to refill it thousands of times . Also absolutely loved the seafood pancake!!! Overall, this is a good place for small celebrations or to catch up with friends. (They also have some fabric refresher just in case the barbeque smell hits your clothes too hard) ♥️

Really tasty food, good service, forgot our drinks a couple of times but pretty good. I would say it’s just pretty pricey, to me Korean BBQ used to be an affordable night out. Not anymore, would prefer to go to an all you can eat joint next time in Mel

Awesome food and loved the flavored soju. I will definitely recommend the seafood pancake. Besides that we ordered wagyu scotch fillet (120g), wagyu bulgogi (250g) and special Gal-bi. Wagyu, as usual, the best kind of beef you can ever taste and their’s was awesome too. I would definitely recommend every bbq lover to check out this place. And their service is great as well. They will continually provide you with their services in barbecuing your meat if needed. Only thing hurts the extra 10% service charge as we dined in on a Sunday. That’s understandable.
