It is possible to defeat the Goblin leaders. You can scrounge up some allies for even numbers or take them down on your own, one by one. There are multiple ways to best the Goblins. This guide will go into detail about every option you have and what the outcome will be. After defeating the Goblins, you will feel unstoppable. Maybe even ready to take on The Hag!

How To Enter The Goblin Camp

Baldur's Gate 3: How To Beat The Goblins (1)

The main entrance to the Goblin Camp is West, past the Blighted Village. You are able to speak with the Goblin on guard and convince him to let you in. You can also just kill him, or sneak your way in.

Attacking the Goblin guard is not advised since the entire camp will aggro against you - there is a War Drum near the front entrance, to the right of the guard, that will alert the camp.

If you can destroy the drum before anyone plays it, you should be good, though. You will be able to walk in as if nothing happened.

Sneaking

If you start sneaking before the bridge, you can head to the right of the entrance.

To the right of the camp walls, you will be able to climb down some vines and jump across to a lower area. There will be a Goblin above a ladder. Wait until he is looking off the cliffs, then climb up and Shove him off.

The Goblin children will not care about your presence but prevent you from staying hidden. Regardless, you can waltz into the camp without anyone caring.

The best option is to be friendly. You can use situational skill checks such as Deception, Intimidation, and Persuasion.

The most passive route would be to be accommodating and rub feces on your face. There is no negative effect to having poo on your face; in fact, many Goblins in the camp will compliment you for it.

Getting into the camp on good terms will allow you to freely walk through the camp and decide your next move without making things difficult.

How To Get Allies Against The Goblins

There are three trolls within the Blighted Village. If you play your cards right, you can get them to fight for you. If you bribe them with Gold, they will agree to fight for you at the sound of their horn. You will be given Lump's Horn.

Using Lump's Horn before or during battle will summon Lump and his friends to fight for you.

They have up to 32 health, with Lump being the strongest of the bunch at 67 health. These guys will give you a big advantage during a difficult fight.

If some of the trolls die in battle, they will not return when you next sound the horn.

How To Kill Priestess True Soul Gut

Baldur's Gate 3: How To Beat The Goblins (3)

The best option is to kill Goblins while they are alone in groups. This ensures you won't get outnumbered and cause chaos everywhere.

There are areas inside the camp where if you kill a group of Goblins, the camp won't notice, and you can continue taking them down silently.

The first person you are able to corner is Priestess True Soul Gut. This is the Goblin sitting on the throne directly inside the Shattered Sanctum.

If you allow her to help you with the Ilithid worm and obey her every order, you will end up in prison. This is good.

While imprisoned by True Soul Gut, you should not try to escape. By letting things be, a strange person will appear and kill the Priestess and her bodyguard. You will then be able to walk around the Priestess' room freely.

There are large doors here that lead to the Defiled Temple, but you will want to go through the door to the left of the jail cell to return to your party members.

The camp will not be alerted to what has happened. That is one leader down.

You can (and should!) pick up the Illithid Tadpoles that drop from each Goblin boss! These are what you'll use to unlock more Illithid powers for you and your party members.

How To Kill Minthara

Baldur's Gate 3: How To Beat The Goblins (4)

Minthara is located northeast inside the Shattered Sanctum. You are able to kill her and her Goblin lackeys in the room she is in without the rest of the camp is alerted. Be wary that the bridge by Minthara's room can be broken, and you won't be able to jump out of the ditch if you fall in.

There is an all-seeing eye that roams the sanctum. If it sees you in battle, be sure to destroy it quickly so that it does not call reinforcements.

After about two turns, the eye will call reinforcements.

Before you aggro Minthara, you should destroy the War Drum to the left of her, on the cliff. This will prevent anyone from alerting the entire camp while you are in battle.

You will want to trap Minthara or prevent her from performing too many actions. Spells or abilities that Silence or Prone are helpful.

The main thing you want to do at the beginning of the fight is lower the number of enemies. Use your strongest character to quickly remove some of the Goblins from the equation.

We have a guide detailing how to defeat both Minthara and Dror Ragzlin.

How To Kill Dror Ragzlin

Baldur's Gate 3: How To Beat The Goblins (5)

The hardest fight will be Dror Ragzlin. He should be done last. He is through the large doors North of the sanctum. He has the most lackeys with him, including an injured Mind Flayer. You can choose to anger him or go with the flow using your Ilithhid Wisdom, regardless he has to go.

This will be a tough fight, but there is a hole in the floor that leads to the spider's den. You can use the spiders to your advantage. You may Charm them from afar, or Shove enemies into the den.

If the Goblins attack the spiders first, the spiders will become your ally. If the spiders see you first, they will become your enemy (unless you Charm).

If this fight is causing you a hard time, you probably want to use Lump's Horn in conjunction with allied spiders here.

How To Poison The Booze Tub And Kill The Remaining Goblins

Baldur's Gate 3: How To Beat The Goblins (6)

After killing all three leaders, you do not have to continue fighting the rest of the camp. If you want to, though, there are some extra ways of getting past reinforcements.

A great way to kill some Goblins is by poisoning the Booze Tub. There is a tub in the courtyard, pictured above, that can be interacted with. A crafting screen will pop up where you will be able to add Basic Poison to the tub.

If you get caught doing this, the Goblins will ask you to drink with them, so make sure you are able to cure your dying party member if they are forced to drink it.

Shattered Sanctum:

Up the stairs past True Soul Gut's throne, there is a wooden cage that holds a Goblin to the left. You are able to become invisible and sneak toward the cage to free him. If you free Brakkak, he will fight the Goblins in that area. Killing the Goblins here will not alert the camp.

You can then continue left to find three Goblins gossiping in the dark. Killing them here will not alert the camp, and you can shove them down the pit with ease.

Unfortunately, this act will only kill around four Goblins.

You will then immediately be put into combat with the rest of the courtyard, which is pretty big, with around ten Goblins left over. This will also alert the Goblins inside the sanctum.

Poisoning the Booze Tub may be something you want to do after you have cleared out the sanctum and have come back for seconds.

How To Escape The Goblin Camp

Baldur's Gate 3: How To Beat The Goblins (7)

Your main objective was to kill all three Goblin leaders in order to protect the Druid Grove. You might then wonder how to escape the camp once you have completed this task.

Taking down all three leaders is no easy feat, and you will be left with injured party members and not enough resources for another fight. Despite that, there will be other Goblins remaining in camp. Make sure you don't walk around and aggro any more enemies.

Escaping the Goblin Camp is as easy as fast traveling out! When you are not in battle, open your map and select any area that is not the Goblin Camp, preferably the waypoint in the Emerald Grove Environs.
